Before any equipment shows up, we want everyone on the same page. This overview explains how work authorization, access, safety, and responsibility are handled on Land Grinders projects. It’s written in plain English so there are no surprises later. The formal work authorization is provided with your quote and must be signed before work begins.
Work Authorization: What to Know Before We Start
Property Access & Authorization
You must own the property or have written permission from the owner to authorize work. By scheduling service, you grant Land Grinders access to the work area with heavy equipment as needed to complete the agreed scope.
If we don’t have permission to be there, we won’t be there.
Estimates, Site Review & Quoting Process
Before issuing a quote, Land Grinders may review property boundaries, aerial imagery, and site conditions using third-party mapping and documentation tools. This helps define the work area, identify access limitations, and estimate scope more accurately before equipment arrives on site.
Quotes are free. The work is not.
Quotes are based on visible conditions, mapped boundaries, and information provided at the time of review.
Property boundaries matter. Work is performed only within the authorized area.
Trees, features, or items to be saved must be clearly marked in advance.
If it’s not marked, flagged, or documented, it may be removed.
Overgrowth hides things. Clearing may reveal additional material, debris, or density not visible during quoting.
Final pricing may adjust if actual site conditions differ materially from what was observable or disclosed.
Quotes reflect land clearing and vegetation management, not finish grading or landscaping unless stated in writing.
We’re good at removing brush—not guessing what you wanted to keep
During quoting, projects are typically discussed in one of the following clearing styles:
Functional Clearing
Focuses on access, visibility, and usability by removing dense growth while leaving natural buffers where appropriate.Selective / Park-Like Clearing
Retains mature trees and desirable vegetation while removing undergrowth, invasive species, and problem brush.Full Clearing
Removes all vegetation within the authorized work area, subject to marked exclusions and property boundaries
The quoted scope reflects the clearing style discussed and documented during the estimate. Changes to the desired end state after work begins may require scope or pricing adjustments.
“Clean” means different things to different people—we define it before the machine starts.
Hidden Items, Utilities & “Stuff We Can’t See”
You are responsible for identifying and marking utilities, septic systems, geothermal, water lines, drainage, irrigation, fencing, wire, debris, or any other hidden hazards before work begins. We recommend calling 811 and walking the site with us if there’s any uncertainty.
If it’s buried, overgrown, forgotten, or hasn’t been seen since the 90s, we can’t protect what we can’t see.
So Land Grinders is not responsible for damage to unmarked or undisclosed items.
Equipment, Ground Disturbance & Expectations
Land clearing involves heavy machinery. Ground disturbance, soil movement, and changes to vegetation are normal and expected parts of the process. Mulch is typically left on site unless otherwise agreed and may not be perfectly flush everywhere.
This is land clearing, not finish landscaping.
Equipment, Ground Disturbance & Expectations
For everyone’s safety, customers, neighbors, children, pets, and bystanders must remain clear of the work area while equipment is operating. Safety zones, signage, and fire mitigation measures may be placed as required.
So seriously stay back
Weather, site conditions, or equipment needs may require schedule adjustments. If rescheduling is initiated by Land Grinders, deposits are not forfeited. If rescheduling is initiated by the customer, notice requirements apply per the formal agreement.

Media, Photos & Aerial Documentation
Land Grinders may document projects using photos, video, action cameras, or aerial footage for planning, verification, and marketing purposes. Client-identifying details are not shared without approval.
Good work gets documented. Great work sometimes gets shared.
Payment terms, deposits, and cancellation rules are defined in the formal work authorization provided with your quote. Work does not begin without signed authorization.
Payment & Final Authorization
Think of this page as guidelines for how we work—not the contract itself.
This page is an overview only. The signed Work Authorization & Service Agreement governs all work, pricing, liability, and legal terms.
This Page vs. the Real Agreement
Seriously If you have questions, ask them early. Clear expectations make for smooth projects.
